I KISSED A CHICK!!!!

So did I get your attention with my header?? It is true though. I was told by several different people to kiss a lot of stuff. A chick, A pig, My nephew and so on. I was amazed at all the different things people wanted me to kiss. In fact I think I have kissed a pig on a trip with Maggie, Len, Missy and Jenny King one time up to South Dakota when I was was in 4th Grade. So today I am in Chicago with Kylie. I am watching my nephew Bryce while my brother and his wife are in Washington DC seeing the sights and visiting Jeannie's good friend who moved out there shortly before her giving birth to Bryce. Adam Brown lives up here and he stopped over and hung out with us today. We thought it would be cool to head to a pumpkin patch. I swear they do things so much bigger up here. It was huge. As we pulled into the parking lot I thought I saw someone I knew.....and in typical Waeyaert Fashion I pulled up and sure enough it was Shari McChesney Pelzner (I think that is her last name) her mother Jane and her daughter Lexi. It is a running gag that no matter where I go or my father goes we always know someone. Adam starting laughing and said "Only you Lisa would be visiting Chicago go to a random Pumpkin Patch and find someone you know" So Kylie and Lexi took a picture together. Shari and I are friends on facebook so it will be funny story to see pictures we took of our kids together in Chicago on a random Friday afternoon. So getting back to the Pumpkin Patch...it has the biggest petting zoo, corn maze, 2 story air slide, crafts and PIE SHACK that I have ever seen. Kylie saw 30 minute old goats that were trying to feed for the first time and it is here that I kissed my first chick.

So there you have it. There were hundreds of chicks running around the place and you were encouraged to pick them up but simply don't squeeze them. I KISSED A CHICK!! Mission accomplished. I am not sure if this is what was intended but it is indeed something I have never done and something I was asked to do. So Day 3 Mission complete.

So on to the babysitting thing. I have done it all my life. In fact Adam Brown and all the Brown children were regular customer's of mine and my brothers when we all lived close to one another. I even had my own child after doing all the babysitting thing. However, as I am approaching the 40 year mark I find it much more difficult. Call it set in my ways, call it enjoying the freedom I have to run around with Kylie or simply call it hard work. It just seems harder. My nephew is nothing but adorable, I love him to death. However, I soon forgot how hard it was to load up a car, car seat check, stroller check, diaper bag check, extra clothing check, bottle check...YIKES. When I became pregnant with Kylie I actually thought I shouldn't or wouldn't become a mom...I didn't think I was meant for it. I know that is harsh to say but seriously I didn't think I could handle it. I can honestly say I can not even imagine my life without her at this point in my life. I get to be a kid with her and she is so fun. I actually loved thinking about loading her up in the car this morning and making our 2.5 hour trip up here so we could just talk, sing and laugh together. She is not the kind of kid who requires ipod, movies or video games to make a road trip. We played the license plate game and sang Carrie Underwood songs. LOL I have been told I need to Karaoke on my adventure too..so I did some practicing.

I think this blog I flew all over the place so I apologize. Using this blog has been some what theraputic to me. I have enjoyed sitting down at night taking some me time and putting my thoughts down. I especially have enjoyed taking up my challenges and laughing at all your suggestions. Below are some of the pictures of our fun today.

Kylie and Bryce at the Pumpkin Patch!!

Adam and Bryce.....priceless

Me skipping on the yellow brick road...there's no place like home

YEP I have a newly turned 9 year old nearly 5ft tall already...YIKES
Wooden Bridges or bridges in general...not my favorite. So I took a picture to prove to my husband I could do it.....I ran off as soon as the camera clicked.

Kylie and I in a cut out...she had to be the driver...reality in only 7 short years.

Seriously does it get any better than this being a kid?? 2 Story Air Slide....MARVELOUS

Yes, everything is bigger in Chicago. We always went to Bengston's Pumpkin Patch in Homer Glen. A suburb but still Chicagoland. Kissing a chick...very clever. LoL. Glad to see that you two had a good time. :)
